I just bought my 08 Altima Coupe SE on Saturday and the dealer told me ALL the coupes come with the moon roof visor installed.

I asked if it could be taken off and she replied with something like this -

"Yes you can but you'd be putting the roof at risk by doing so"

I know it is "held" in by the screws so there will be holes in the roof and that is my concern.

How can I remove it and seal/cover the holes and still be able to re-install the moon roof visor if needed?

Thanks.

hahaha "you'd be putting yourself at risk by doing so" ?????

I want some of what she's smoking cause thats ridiculous. There are no holes in the car at all. It is held on by 3 brackets to the inside of the sunroof. You need a philips head screw driver and socket for the nut on the inside. Thats it. No harm done whatsoever. I took mine off and the only thing that bothered me was the fact that it left a mark in some spots on the roof where it was sitting for a while. Take it off!

I'm 99.99999% certain that those visors are completely dealer installed, as no coupes have come from the factory with them installed in my city, and most pictures I've seen from other areas don't have them either. Sounds like a lot of BS (probably an accessory they are building into the price).

I'm 100% sure it's dealer installed. The dealer's just trying to make some extra money. If I were you, I'd go to another dealer, or bring in a copy of how much the actual moonroof deflector is selling for on eBay. Tell them that they must be joking if their gonna charge you the $85 or so dollars for that thing.

The moonroof is already small, I wouldn't want a deflector to make it even smaller. My person opinion, of course.
