Without doing ANY research, I'll ask the experts first. Has anyone found a satisfactory moon roof kit for the Z coupe?

IMHO it's fine without one. Not to mention what wires or other things that might be running through that area.

Go to Pep Boys and get a "pop up" moon roof.

I haven't purchased the Z yet. A convertible is an option but it has a bit more road noise than the coupe. Just looking for options. I once lived in CA so I understand that you wouldn't know what a great nighttime sky looks like (especially if you didn't have a moon roof to see through). Thanks for responding.

um..when I had a slow car I needed a sunroof/moonroof because I had time to look up...with my Z I don't dare look anywhere else but front..except my mirrors from time to time If I want to see the moon light sky...I park and look up<---it's free

i know what you mean having a moonroof would be nice..but I rather have a rock solid chassis than a car that twists everytime you hit a railroad crossing

whatever you do, please post your car when you get it

Perhaps I was too quiick in assuming I'd get good feedback here. Seems there is a lot of incidental knowledge that may hold true for other vehicles but not for this one. Try reading this review from a real expert. http://www.edmunds.com/apps/vd...00573

See ya.

^ No such thing as a "real expert" over at Edmunds

Also, just because the advise you got wasn't what you wanted to hear doesn't mean its bad feedback. Be realistic and open to suggestion. You came here to ask a question and you got answers.

Jerry, I respectfully disagree. I asked if anyone had found a satisfactory moon roof kit. The correct response would have been either "Yes and they are available at _____." or "No because they don't work or because they aren't available." What I got were poorly educated opinions.

Rich, I've got a lot of automotive experience as a technician and as a dealership representative and on any car aftermarket sunroofs and moonroofs are not a good idea. If you ask anyone, aside from the companies attempting to sell them, you will found out that if they're not the factory units they are prone to leaking, operate poorly, etc. Not to mention that fact that with the curvature of the roof on a 350z it would throw off the body lines. The same problems will be had in the long run that are seen on the early Z's (240z, 260z, 280z) with the aftermarket sunroofs. They leak, rust around the roof, are hard to find parts for when things go wrong, etc.

So in short, don't do it. If you were looking for a lengthy response as to why, hopefully mine fit the bill.
