I have to get new inner and otter tie rods soon. i want to get a tein tie rod combo from frsport but my stepdad said that moog is better and cheaper. but i dont know a lot about moog..

so my question is what kind of quality have any of you had in moog? and should i get moog or tein tie rods(inner and outer)?

I just went to NAPA and grabbed some. Look exactly like the moog ones pictured on their site. So if the tein one look different you probably just buying the fact that they aren't OEM in this application.

Tein inners have a built in spacer (IIRC), Moog does not. Tien outers are the exact same as Moog.

Whatever you do, get s14 pieces. s14 inners are 14mm where as s13 inners are 12mm. This means the ID of the outer tie rods is different from s13 to s14. All companies that produce aftermarket outer tie rods for the s chassis use the 14mm ID.

Not only will your stock tie rods be stronger, if you ever upgrade to better outers in the future you won't need to buy new inners as well.

Don't know anything about Moog, but I have been running TEIN's tie rods for quite sometime with no problems. They are beefy, too.

so moog is basically just an oem replacement? not an aftermarket brand?

Unless you are going to nissan and getting nissan branded parts all parts are "aftermarket" unless they are "ORIGINAL EQUIPMENT MANUFACTURER"

I just got some s14 tein inners. I compared them to my oem s13s and circuit sports s14. Tein by far had the better construction. The directions say they're like 55% harder than stock. At first, I was like. "wtf does that mean?" but when you hold all three in your hand, you can totally feel the difference. As for dimensions, Tein is to s14 oem spec. The length is the same, the inner/outer threading is the same, and the thread length that goes into the rack is the same. Over all, tein is an s14 oem piece, just a little bit stronger. Is it worth the 150 something dollars? Idk, but i wish I would have bought tein instead of CS back when I bought tie rods.

Moog is a great OE aftermarket replacement company. And they actually research common failures and fix know issues on their products. For the price and quality moog is awesome.

+1 for Moog. I just picked up some inner and outer tie rods a few weeks ago. Mood is a great replacement and like others have said, comes with a lifetime warranty.

What are your plans for your car? I didn't have a need for the built in spacer that the teins have, since I don't plan on slamming my car or running some crazy turning radius. The Moog units seem to be a lot stronger than stock as well.

well i kinda want the teins since i do plan on going lower. im lowered 2" lowering springs right now. and the teins seem like they would be better if i was going to go lower. and the moog just seem like replacements to oem..

Why do you feel the teins would be better for going lower? OEM or Moog either one are fine.

guess there's peepz here don't know about Moog Suspension Products. Moog products are not cheap. They're great OEM replacement. To the Op, you're step dad is right about Moog. You're biasing towards Teins because of the amount of people using them here. I would use Moog for OE replacements.
