Hey Guys,

i am just installed the outer tie rod ends on my 95 240sx and noticed that the outer rod ends came with a brass bleeder screw looking thing... it looks like it might mount on the bottom of it? but i am not sure and what for.. the stock one doesn't have one..

heres a pic of it next to a penny

cheers for input!Marko

The ones probably did not come with grease. You put that fitting on the bottom of the joint and then fill it with grease.

Stock ones are sealed with grease in them.

its a grease fitting.... stock ones cant be greases... most OE replacements have grease fittings so you can grease them as they wear

Go to a mechanics shop or something, they will be able to fill it for you. Put the fitting on before you go though, the grease gun attaches to it and allows grease to only go into the fitting...not come out.

Ask your neighbor if they have a grease gun. Chances are someone you know has one.

so since it has a fitting for a grease gun, do i need to fill it every once in a while, unlike the stock tie rod end?

no not really. the grease zerks on tie rods are there so you can put some fresh grease in as the stock grease deteriorates. on our shop trucks they say to grease the tie rod ends every 30K mi, its prob similar for our s13's
