Does anyone know where the sensor for the mood lighting in the dash is located. The dash never seems bright enough on overcast days or in the early evening and I would like to see if I can "trick" it to make it brighter.

The 'mood lighting' is simply the orange led near the overhead map lights that comes on when you turn on the parking/headlights. There isn't any way to adjust the brightness of that particular light. if you are concerned with the actual dashboard lighting it is the round knob to the lower left of the trip odometer.

There is a dash dimmer switch. It's the knob located on the lower left of the gas gauge. Directions on Pg 2-28 of your owners manual.

The lighting I'm refering to is the dash lighting itself. It adjust to the surronding lighting. For example when I drive through a tunnel or pull into a garage the lighting in the dash gets brighter as the surrondings get darker. The dash adjustment knob works more so when your headlights are on. As I said before the dash lights come on automatic, that is without the headlight switch in either on position. I'm assuming that there is some type of photo sensor located somewhere that the dash lighting works off of.

No, there is no photo sensor. The intensity of the dash lights when the headlight switch is off is fixed.

So you are saying the dash lights are on all the time?

Yes, the instrument panel and radio display backlighting turn ON at full intensity as soon as the ignition is turned ON. This way you get maximum visibility of the gauges. When you turn the headlights ON, the intensity changes to the level determined by the dimmer knob mentioned above and the remaining backlighting (radio & HVAC controls, steering wheel buttons, etc) turns ON as well.

I found the orange light (gas, milage) to be to bright while driving at night. I wanted to dim it but I could not find it anywhere.
