Looks good. I'm curious, though. Why did you choose JE Pistons? I looked at those a few years ago when I first thought about doing an SR swap. Now it seems everyone goes with CP or Mahle.

welll i built the car for 18-20 psi and i was talking to all the machine shops and everyone of the guys suggested them because he said the preform better under high boost...he said he has seen alot of problems out of cp pistons...im very happy so far...everything runs great and its pretty gangster the way it moves.

I would have to guess that the reason he's seen problems with CP Pistons is the simple fact that more people run them. JE pistons are very RARELY mentioned in the SR community. Either way, it's nice to hear they work out nicely. What options do they offer with the JEs?

i thought that it was weird that the pistons have valve reliefs that normally a thing seen in high compression engines

idaho, what's the purpose of the valve reliefs? Keep in mind, JE is a company that use to be sold mainly by companies like JEGS, so this design (if it's intended for high compression motors) was probably just copied over from their domestic line.

yeah. its kinda an intersting deal. my cp pistons didnt have them. and they were 9 to 1 compression. but they were nicely dished.

I'm going with cp 9:1 as well, but only 87mm. Really don't feel like having my block sleeved.
