Has anyone used the inverted type mono-tube shocks on their s13?

I purchased the tein control master type flex assemblies but I am wondering if I should have waited for the inverted shock setup to hit the market. Is there any reason other than the added lateral rigidity of the inverted design I should take into consideration? The primary use of my car will be for daily driving with occasional road racing events.

If you could have gotten the inverted, you should have gotten the inverted.

i'm not a tein fan. i'd rather get kts from splparts.com and save money for something else.

or go up some and get some apexi n1 (made in japan) not taiwan.

basic idea:

HKS Monotube vs. Twintube design

KTS for the winnnnn - survived daily driving, autoxing, accidental drifting, rallyx (autox version of rally), mountain driving, under construction road driving through LA... has the QV stamp of approval.

Yeah I'm not too much a fan of Tein either, but for the beginner, they're pretty good. Kinda pricey but better than the other generic stuff. The KTS are pretty good too, but could be better with more adjustment in camber for the front and the bounciness I felt with those. I'll have a review of another pretty good on the wallet coilover coming around pretty soon, they're from Stance.

Adjusting for negative or more positive camber? Yea, I can only get -2.5 camber (max positive) for my setup in front because of the other alignment variables I wanted and height. Seems to be standard w/ other coilovers I've seen on friends' cars too (apexi, tein, etc). Negative side, I can go way crazy camber, haha.

The bounciness, not sure if your's is the same, but almost all of it went away when I played around w/ the dampening settings - turning it up higher (currently 8 front, 6 back) was much less bouncy and just more rigid than the softer settings.

Compared to other coilovers and even some spring/shock combos tho, feels on the comfort level side, haha.

Looking forward to the stance coilover review, they look pretty beefy also.

Yeah the stance can apparently go to -4.0 in the front. I've seen that done on Zeals and also the higher model cusco's which was a good selling point on the Stance that I ended up getting.

The bounciness, probably needed more time to tune them to the pretty bumpy streets up here in San Francisco (crappy roads with pot-holes-a-plenty) but yeah...

I'm pretty stoked about the Stance coils, just UPS hit a delay. *grumbles*

Thanks for all your input.

Seems like I have already put the last nail in the coffin with the FLEX purchased and sitting in the garage. The spring are 7fr/7rr 392 out of the box and should be interesting to setup being the same spring rate.

It sounds like everyone is onboard with KTS and eyeing the Stance in here. Can't wait for the reviews!

Yeah my stance actually came in today but I can't do anything with them till Wednesday night after I take my last final exam. Probably won't be able to get decent pictures till Thursday of them out of the box and installed and so on. I'll probably use Wednesday to take measurements on them though. I'll keep you guys posted

Orrrrr you just got a buy 1 get 1 free... , hahahahaha, sorry for the thread jacking, I figured it'd be okay by now since let5l1de has got his coilovers.

Same spring rates front & back will definately be interesting... cuz doesn't it come different even in stock form? Sounds like possible mad drifting action w/ 7/7 setup...

Not too sure how the 7/7's would be, sounds pretty interesting though. I'd like to hear how that runs as well.
