I have read several posts on similar topics but im just asking for some opinions... I have a 1990 240sx.... Im swapping the motor out for something but im not decided yet.. Although im leaning twards a KA ... 2 quick questions.. before i get into my main question1) to swap a DOHC motor into a SOHC car what do i need..2) Is it better to turbo a SOHC or a DOHC
ok now my real question.... Im trying to look at it from a monitary point of veiw im looking to get about 300 at the crank maybe a little more .. I can get a DOHC with 99k miles on it , ecu, wireing harness, transmission for like $1250 (with a 90 day warrenty) . then the turbo kit for around 2900 or so..
Now the other option of coruse is the SR20DET witch seems to be costing between 2000 to 2500 for the front clip +shipping for the s-13 red top. now i still am going to have to upgrade the turbo, change to a front mounted intercooler, injectors, bigger fuel pump..
I guess im just asking for opinions.. Personaly im leaning twards the KA motor simply because i just like the higher displacement, more torque, ect. But if getting 300 to 325 at the crank is going to cause me to have to get new pistons, rods, crank, polish the heads, ect to handle that kind of boost its probably not worth itPlease any imput is welcomed
