It was probably just some dumb cop trying to be smart that made that remark, I wouldn't take it to be the view of the whole police force that was there to shut them down.nogears909 wrote:thats like saying why collect stamps if you arent going to mail anything with them
I should have explained his situation more but I did not want to deter from the rest of my post.notaverage wrote:I agree with you on the fact that street racing is very bad, but 25 years seems like a suitable punishment. The whole point of the prison system is for reform. If the guy you went to high school with learned his lesson, and spent 25 years in jail, then i think he should be allowed out, only if he truly learned that street racing is wrong.
.. that's real talk!kyle@stillen wrote:

This particular guy (trying to choose my words kindly) was driving on a suspended driver's license because he had just received a DUI where he totalled his other M3 a few month's prior...His rich grand parents bought him another M3 (which is the car he was driving when he killed the husband and wife.) Then after hitting them and seeing they were dead, he jumped back in his car and raced home. Literally leaving an oil trail from the scene of the accident to his front door and leaving the totalled car in his driveway.
The cops found him hiding under his bed...
Obviously this guy is just a coward and does not act like most performance minded people. I was simply trying to say that street racing is not worth other people's lives. If you want to put your own life at risk, make sure you're doing it in suitable areas like race tracks.
I am not trying to say that racing is dangerous so don't do it...That would be pretty hypocritical considering my families history hahaha. I personally have dirtbikes, race cars, and other desert toys. I LOVE racing, and I LOVE living on the edge...but I do it in places where I won't hurt anyone else. If I take myself out that's fine. But I couldn't live with myself if I took out an innocent bystander.
We have been putting on these shows for YEARS and we have never had this problem. We rent the street from the city so they don't have the jurisdiction, they would have to get you when they leave.R1Wolf wrote:Saw that on the news this morning, that's jacked up. Hope they don't do anything like that at the Stillen event!
ok this pisses me off too even tho it comes from the factory and is a performance part why should those be legal but the aftermarket ones not? i agree you shouldnt be in trouble, but its just another hole in their logic.riick riick wrote:dude tell me about it. i wasn't even in that parking lot but they had motorcycle cops out and around everywhere so pulled me over and made me pop the hood. they ended up giving me a ticket for a "modified exhaust and modified intake" when both the exhaust and intake came from the factory. no i gotta go see the state referee. they had the whole area shut down with police trailers news teams the whole nine.
this is the second time i have seen/read about a cop saying a remark like this and it is one of the most ignorant coments i have ever heard.notaverage wrote:

So far I've been stopped in City of Industry and Arcadia. City of Industry it was... Tint, No Front Plate, and 'No proof of insurance'. Arcadia it was no front plate because I had my windows down. Just go 5%... if you're going to get stopped... you're going to get stopped.alphapig wrote:Speaking of these things...
I got pulled over going to college today, for no front plates and window tint.
Yay!
I only have 35% front... I will take it off, get it signed, and get 20% for the front. The only point of me getting 35% was to be inconspicuous. f*** that now.
