The Murano Cross-Cabriolet is dead!

Since yesterday's debut of the stylish-ish 2015 Nissan Murano, a single question has lingered in the hearts and minds of people everywhere: "What's gonna happen to the Murano CrossCabriolet?" It is with great sadness that I must now inform you that it is dead.

Take a moment to hug your children if they are upset. Tell them everything is going to be alright. You know you're lying to them, but sometimes a lie is better than the truth.

Autoblog scribe Chris Paukert first received the sad news that the newly redesigned Murano will not get a $42,000 two-door all-wheel drive convertible version. Is the 2015 Murano even worth buying anymore?

Because BMW is spreading its segment-busters down the line, it's now time for the 2015 BMW X4. And it looks just like a shrunken X6. Or a jacked … Read…
I mean, let's say the reaction you want to elicit with your car is "You bought THAT? Like with your actual money?" How are you going to do that now that the CrossCabriolet is gone? Thank God for the BMW X4, I suppose.

Anyway, the CrossCabriolet is dead now. In their obituary, Autoblog notes that sales peaked at just 3,278 in 2012 and sagged down to 1,322 last year.

Hang onto your CrossCabriolets tightly, dear owners. Take care of them. You're not getting a replacement.
