Hey, i'm in the market for a new carpet for my convertible.

How many of you have changed your carpet? Wich company did you buy from?now, i know there is a difference on convertible carpets because of the seatbelt are not mounted behind the seats likethe other models, How did you guys overcome this, or did you order the carpet molded for the vert already?

I have searched and spoken to many people, likeStockinteriors.com and http://www.autoupholsterykits.com, But both of them where not sure about the differences in the floor plan.

I have already purchased a molded carpet, I was told it would fit the convertible, well it does fit, but has extra carpet molded tofit a coupe/hatch, that does not look nice.

I want to get the right thing, or see what you guys did to work around it. Any pictures would help too. Thank you.l

Do NOT order from StockInteriors.com If you do some searching you can find my pictures in the interiors subforum about how horrible the carpet fit.

I ended up taking my car to an upholstery shop and letting them install a carpet.

Ok. Thanks for the heads up. I did some more research on the subjectAnd yes, Stockinteriors seems to get very negative feedback with fitment. I wish it wasn't so hard to find the right carpet for our verts. by the way how much did you pay for your custom carpet??

Did you try ordering from Nissan? Pricey if they it is still available (~$500), but the best quality you'll get.

I ordered my carpet from stockinteriors.com and the fitment was great. All of the aftermarket carpet is "trim to fit". It takes some time(6 hours) but when your done I think it is a good option compared to the $620 dealer carpet. The guy I talked to from stock interiors was really cool and was telling how it didn't matter between coupe and convertible carpet.

the convertible looks like this, Without thoes bumbs.

can you share some pictures of you carpet?and also does anyone know what the stock pile is for the 240sx carpet.

i bought hatch carpet from a local drifter. don't know what brand it was. i had to hack it up to make it fit and the final fit isn't that great, but it's way better than the carpet i had. if you take your time and have some good tools for cutting and making holes, you should be able to get a hatch/coupe carpet to work pretty well. just be patient.

^ I agree with the Canuck. I'm sporting used '89 coupe carpet in my vert. Pignose coupe carpet is high quality stuff, and only has minor fitment issues in verts. Cheap, too.

no.

i hope that came off as blunt. lol. the reason i say no is because i'd have to pull the rear seat and climb under the dash to get those 2 pictures. with the car wedged between the wall of my shop and the mir3vo project, i can't really get to doing that for you. someone will post pictures some day.

it did come out blunt. lol , but pull off the rear seat?? and climb under the dash? there is nothing but metal behind the rear seat, exept if you have a coupe or hatch. and i can't figure out how some one could climb under a dash, it boggles my mind? maybe a baby?but the circled area on the 2 pictures above is right behind the 2 front seats. so im confused by your answer. please clarify what you ment, because i don't think i will ever be able to figure out what you meant by climbig under the dash?? LOL, sorry if it came off as blunt.

yeah... i was trying to be funny, but you kind of loose sarcasm over the internet when the inflection is always left in the hands of the reader...

i must apologize for not paying closer attention to those pictures you posted... i was under the impression that one of them was the front of the carpet that went up under the dash and the other was of the rear that would tuck under the seats...

i fail.

i can take a picture of the carpet with the seats in if you'd like, but i'm not really fast lately with getting pictures uploaded.

as far as climing under the dash: lol.

Yeah, no problem. I took as if you where trying to be funny. i guess the picture can be confusing. But yeah, post some pics of your carpet on how it looks behind the seats, becuase on my car it had does bumps, you saw in the first picture above. I guess i should find better pictures explaining what i mean.

The last carpet i bougth was from ebay, and i didn't get a good fit. But hopefully you got something good. As far as i was told by the retailers is that there is only one manufacturer for our carpets, and they are only resellers. so basically every one has the same kit.
