This is my first post to this board.I've got an 89 240sx that i have just done some mods on. Ported the head, headers, intake, exhaust. I have a set of Venom high flow injectors that I want to install but I can't yet pass the emissions here in CT so I don't want to put them on until I do. The NOx is to high.

The NOx may be due to the AIV which is corroded and will probably fall apart in my hands when I remove it.

So my questions are: Will the Venom injectors work without any other Mods? Will they affect my emissions?

I ask this because if I am going to replace the EGR (major cause of NOX problems) it would be nice to do the injectors at the same time.

No teh injectors wont work without anything else... aside from yoru car barely running (depends how big they are) and sputtering all over, you WILL fail period. Your HC's will jump up by a ton if they are not compensated for.

If there really isn't a really technical inspection where you go and as long as you pass they aren't hard on you... then just completely remove the EGR system. Make a block off for the intake manifold, or just leave it in place blocked. IMO, unless the state is rough on it spending money to replace parts that do NOTHING for performance is quite silly. The EGR removed will not harm emissions if everything else is ok.

Otherwise good luck and welcome to NICO :ylsuper

Nox comes from high combustion temperatures. Try retarding your timing a few degrees, it may help.
