So, first off, the leather on my shift knob is wearing off and I want a new shift knob. I only like the leather covered ones, and I found a nismo shifter, but it says it is for a 5 speed. Will this still fit on my car? Does anyone know of any brands that will look good and will fit on my current boot? And, I have looked into turbo kits for the Maxima, but everyone I have talked to has said I need to do a custom turbo kit. Is that true? Has anyone on here turboed their maxima?

Welcome to NICO!

There are better options than turbo. If you want a good, reliable daily driver, just do some standard bolt ons and you should be good to go. You need to either purchase a new stock shifter or get an after market auto shift knob.

Good suggestion with the bolt ons. I didn't consider that, but it is probably better since I drive 60 miles a day! Where can I get a new stock shifter?

The shift knob I would try picking up at a boneyard. As for the turbo kit, it wouldn;t exactly be reliable but there is a kit that turbokits.com makes. It's not 100% bolt up as there is some modification involved with making everything fit and tapping the pan for the oil line.
