Is there any reason why I couldn't cut the manifold flange off the Boost Designs turbo manifold and then cut and re-angle the runners to match up to a KA24E flange and reweld?

If this is possible then will the downpipe still be usable?

Thanks.

why not just get a sohc mani? 550 bucks is a lot for something you are just gonna hack up anyway. heres a shot of the flange setup on the sohc.

I'm not gonna hack it up, just move the runners and reweld, it will look like it was built that way.

I want a nice tubular manifold and be able to use the downpipe also, since nobody makes a nice KAE setup I figured I could just mod a DE one.

I wonder if the distance from runners is equal to that of the KA24e?

Unless you like taking off your manifold every time you change your spark plugs I don't suggest you do that.

Motor mount gets in the way unless you move it back, then you have to deal with steering linkage. I suggest top mounting.

It would have the same clearance as any other topmount I've seen.

I must be missing something?
