I have the Injen intake with the cold air extension on my s14 and am wondering about something. If you have them you know how the two pieces are tapered to fit in the hole on the way down to the bumber. It has always seemed to me that the hole in the sheet metal could be enlarged and the intake plumbing would not have to be restriced at that point. Has anyone tried this or know of any reason why I wouldn't be able to flow a little more air this way?

Just take a dremel to it. I fit my 3" down tube to my ram air canister through there after I opened it up a lil. Tin snips could also work, but youll need to clean it up a little afterwards.

Go for it!!

i noticed that too. but instead of putting the filter through the hole i built some plumbing out of 2 1/4 hose up from the bumper into the engine compartment. i used black rubber fitting on the clear strand fiber hoses to make it look clean. thirg gear has never jerked so hard!:ylsuper
