I have a 2012 nissan rogue with built in navigation. I am well versed in entering waypoints, and generating a route. Is there a way to modify the default route? For instance if I'm routed through the center of a city, is there a way to force the route to a road around the city?

What default route? All routes are a calculation based upon locations and a few parameters. Adding a waypoint seems most appropriate. Trying detour or just driving the way you want to go while it re-routes seems like it would work also. Are you wishing you could just drag a route to a new street, kind of like in Google Maps? I think that input is unique to Googles programming.

Get a Garmin or Tomtom or use Google Maps... Problem solved.

You cannot, as this is basically impossible on the Rogue's navigation, but it is possible in a Honda/Acura navigation (not the newer Honda navi). You can change the routing preference from easy, fast, avoid tolls, etc. from the navi settings for the Rogue.

Hi. I am looking to update my Navigation system. Where can I buy the latest package? My car is the 2012 Rogue.

We have an incredible SEARCH feature on this forum. GPS Map Updates

HERE Maps (formerly called NAVTEQ) provides the maps for Nissan/Infiniti GPS systems. They have discontinued the maps for the 1st gen Rogues and have nothing available on their website. You could try calling their customer support 1-888-628-6279 to see if they have anything leftover, but don't hold your breath. And before you ask, the maps for the 2nd gen Rogues are NOT compatible with the 1st gen system.

^Agreed with Rogue One. Like on my previous post in this thread, you are better off getting a handheld Garmin or Tomtom GPS, or using the good ol' G-Maps.

I could not find any updates available online. You can check with the dealership, keep rockin' the dated maps you already have, use a smart phone or try a handheld GPS.

This was a good place to look. Using search I found a related thread...

Please let us know if you have good luck with an update. There are others who would like the same for their Rogues.

Thank you Everyone for your reply. I did call Nissan USA. there is a new updated version that has been created since September 2017. for some reason, it is not available online (maybe an issue with the site). However, you can call them and place an order. It is $149 US. free ground shipping for a limited time. customer service - 1 (888) 628-6279.
I live in Toronto, Canada, and unfortunately it is not available in Nissan Canada, so will have to pay US-CDN conversion fee also, and shipping $29.99 to Canada.
