Hey, I was curious about what exactly needs to be modified to "bolt on" the s15 turbo to the red top. I need to know how much the hotpipe needs to be adjusted and all the other goodies to make it work. I've ordered the taka oil lines and all other things. Remember the main question is...What needs to be cut, welded, or whatever to fit the s15 turbo in my sr20 red top?

the oil return line is different. You got that. Otherwise, the exhaust flange should be the same. You might ned to monkey bend the oil and cooling lines a little to get them to line up, but that should be it. Make sure you upgrade your injectors before you drop that turbo in and get boost happy. That T-28 WILL top the stock injectors out.

Things you need to "modify":-T25 aluminum intake elbow, Bolts on but needs to be rewelded at the right angle ($50 at the weld shop)-oil return flange, need to slot the bolt holes so it bolts on to the turbo (free if you know how to use a drill)-Oil return hose, need a longer one than what was on the T25 ($0.25 home depot)-Bend oil and water hard lines (free)-You also need to buy a S15 compressor outlet elbow ($70)

Its really easy if you do this with the motor out of the car :)

Also, i had to have the hotpipe re-angled a few degrees and shortend ($20 + $20) and get a Samco 45 degree bend silicon coupler ($55 or something)

the manifolds from the blacktop to the redtop should be identical. There would be no performance gain from it, but if you got your S15 turbo with the manifold attached, just go ahead and swap the S15 mani on.

which outlet are you talking about? The 02 exhaust housing? or the compressor outlet?

The T28s had a slightly different bolt pattern from the T25s for the exhaust housing. Best bet is to get a drill or a file and enlarge the hole that's not lining up right (i believe only one of the bolt holes won't fit properly). The studs should line up, it's a bolt hole. I remember I had an issue with this when trying to install a T28 extension because I had no T25s at the time when doing somebody's car.
