Not understanding. And why was the thread about "Bodyshop in Sacramento" locked?

He means there are regional forums in which to ask such questions and he locked the thread.

You need to reread the NICO terms of service / forum rules as creating these threads is against the rules. You should have contacted the moderator or sent an email to webmaster @ nicoclub.com to question why the thread was locked.

I took the time, (actually quiet a bit of time) looking for these rules. No luck. And I am not the dumbest tack out there. It would be nice if someone could direct me to them. It should probably be easier to find them. I was able to find these "regional" groups. I specifically looked at the "California" group. Those topics are so varied. And besides, they encompass the whole state. Perhaps the question about the bodyshop should have been placed there. But looking through them, there is a question about a body shop on the second page, second to last. It was never answered. So what gives??? I am dying to know how creating a thread (asking a question) is against the rules, depending what section you ask it in. Why does it matter?? I thought the main purpose of such forums is for people to find help, and also have fun with it. Does asking a question in a certain area jam that area's circuit or something. Or are the owners of the site charged for every "thread", so threads out of place are just like leaving your lights on at home?? (In other words a big waste of money). As far as sending an email to get an explanation, you are making it sound like it should have been hush hush, sorta illegal in a way. An open book policy is better and more honest. I also think the moderator should have explained himself, as opposed to locking the thread. Of course noone has to do anything, and I probably am coming across as another idiot who should be shot. I am going to leave this question about the body shop as to "noone really knows a good shop", hence the lack of response. I do appreciate your response, but I think the moderator should have taken the time to do so. I am still going to wait for a response from him/her/it. I don't mean to be an a**hole. I am just thoroughly confused as to why this question was such a big deal being made in this group. Was this question so illegal??

You aren't being punished for posting a thread in the wrong section. To be perfectly honest, you originally posted your body shop question here in the SR forum first. I moved it to 240 GC for 2 reasons.

1: The SR forum is a grossly improper forum to ask a body work question. This is an engine forum.

2: While you were asking a regional question, I felt that you might get more traffic in GC, hence why I moved it there. One of our other moderators decided it would be better to lock the thread than to move it to what he felt was the appropriate location.

As for your question, you'll have better luck looking up local forums on the internet for those type of questions. While we have a strong cali population here, your question can get lost in the wake pretty easily. If you found a more localized board that dealt primarily with your area, you might have better luck. Another thing you can do too is to just visit local shops. When I was casing joints out for painting my car, I visited a bunch of shops, got quotes, and looked at the quality of work sitting in the shop.

Did you even bother reading the Terms of Service, which you agreed to, when you joined NICO? I would take that as a firm NO as you would have seen a link to the forum rules:

zerothread/203223

Nobody wants to see others butt-hurt drama about threads being edited or moved which is the reason for the "hush hush, send email" crap. In general, get over yourself.

Hey Hijacker, thanks for the clarification. If you can explain 240 GC, that would be great. It all makes sense, except for the "grossly improper" part. I think people come here to find out, and have fun. I would call it grossly improper if I had posted a question about my microwave oven. I think for the most part, individuals who don't know as much as others, are ostracized by the ones who think knowledge about a car makes them a better person. I am going to guess that is not the case with you. I didn't know you had moved my question to another place. It would have been great to know. I do appreciate your intention. I don't understand why PAHC had to then trump that, and lock the question. I still haven't heard back from him/her/it. No worries, probably someone I don't need to hear from anyways. FYI, you guys should make those rules much easier to find.As far as Audtatious, wow! There is noone here who's butt has gotten hurt. hrmm. I think you're the one with your panties tangled. I'm just having fun, and collecting all this mighty info. If anything, become a moderator. You have the makings of one. Peace.

You post a thread in the regional forum and get responses, then you ask about body work and don't get replies. For some reason you post the same question in 240-gen where it didn't belong. When that gets locked you post a complaint thread in the SR20 forum which is improper and go on a side-rant when I tell you your actions are against forum rules and now you say everything was all in fun while still being accusatory to staff about you being ostracized and you not being treated fairly. If you had followed the rules (which you should have read when you joined NICO as a link to the rules are listed in the TOS which you agreed to) I would not be here responding to this worthless tread. Maybe I should simply take more time out of my day to create a big flashing "Forum Rules" button for those who didn't read them and put it up next to the big flashing Search button?

Yeah, I guess I sound harsh here. BUT, we have 700-1000+ active threads a day with up to 26,000 posts a week to monitor with a small staff. We don't have time to handhold.

Alridy. Let's start with the double posting. I wasn't sure if the one, or the other forum was "appropriate" for the question. My fault for thinking I had made a mistake with the first forum, and redoing it on the second. I guess space here is at a premium. I have read the "TOS", which I am going to assume is the title "terms of service". I didn't find anywhere where it says: ye shall not put the wrong question in the wrong group. I also read the terms of conduct. Again, I failed to find anything where it says: do not put the wrong question in the wrong group. Please, copy the section that I have completely missed. As far as me "posting a complaint thread", not even close. I was confused, and wanted someone to explain. I think I said: what do you mean?? If that sounds like a complaint to you, roll with it.You'll have to explain which staff member I am acussing of ostracizing me. If you read what I wrote, my sentence clearly states that opinion as a general rule to people, not to me in particular. But no worries, mate.Again, I have read the rules, and I am dying to see this section that will set me straight. I am running on the assumption that you somehow are staff, even tough I don't see the word Moderator next to your sign-in name. But if you're not, whatever. I don't cry, I work out.And about the worthless, and hand holding. The home page should include a big note that reads: You must know your sh** (sorry, I couldn't think of a better phrase). And also: You must know your way around this site. I guess "service" is not your strong hold, Adtacious. If you wanted to avoid this hand holding, this site should be smaller, and only let in family members and close friends. Only then would you almost garantee everyone knowing what to do, and how to do it. How long would it take to type a few words along the lines of: Hey dude, post this over here, this is the right place. I know, I know, a big waste of time.Million dollar question: why would anybody lock a question, when it had already been moved??? And instead of locking honest questions, why not just move it? I am so dumb, I don't get it. Service, guys, service. People, me included, will continue to ask those "dumb" questions. Or ask questions that have been answered before. Just answer them, or tell them where they can find it, nicely. Respect, and you will be respected. The less people sound like jerks, the less they are. I do think you should waste your time making that button for the rules. I like the flashing idea. Make it red. And don't forget about the section that I cannot find. Peace in the middle east, at least. I should be a rapper.

I've got a 13-year old here who you would get along GREAT with.

He'd argue with a table leg. For an hour.

Let's just leave it at this: You posted a question about a bodyshop in an engine-specific forum. In addition, you posted a question about a local bodyshop in an internationally-viewed forum.

Those two reasons alone should be sufficient.

That would be like walking into a women's hair salon in Fairbanks and asking whether you should use a 9-iron or a driver on the 12th hole at Pebble Beach.

And if it's "service" you want, you got it. Your question was moved to the appropriate section, rather than being deleted.

The great news in all this is that, thankfully, you weren't harmed during your ordeal. Being lost can be frightening - Happens to me every time I wander away from the nursing home in my slippers and robe.

What I can't comprehend is how we got this far along without your guidance on how to run a forum.

Dumb luck, I guess.

p.s. Welcome aboard. We're not a-holes, but it's sure fun to act like one once in a while.

Hmmm.I guess I'll have to close this thread. It's only fitting, right??I really didn't start this, big rambling, huge text thing...speaking of huge.NMAAnyways, on to my point:

I only meant to explain the point of view that many of us share at times, and that is to make member's lives plushier. Some of us don't know a lot about cars, let along Japaness engines. And sometimes even less how to navigate sites. Does anybody have a map?

I did enjoy the wise words from the CEO. I am assuming that is not just a made up Avitar, because if that's the case, I want my avitar to read President. I am however torn by his comparison to his kid. I'd like to think I act more like a fifteen year old. (That's at least 2 or 4 years older). Plus I'm allergic to table legs. Big rashes.

Bottom line is: the less you act like a Richard, the less you'll be a Richard. Capish?

I have enjoyed this, and will continue to enjoy the multitude of wise information on this site. Please understand I was never arguing with nobody (good english right?). Just treat others like you would want to be treated. Thanks for moving my question to...BTW, where is my question? (Seriously) *Darn it, this means I may not be the last one to write on this thread. I mean it, don't leave me hanging. This has been fun, but I have blisters on ma finger tips...or is that from something else???

Thanks for the welcoming, and I promise to stop writing senseless, rambling, boring, waste-of-time, unnecessary and ridiculous blocks of nothingness. Because there is really no time to have to sit there, and read a bunch of jibber-jabber, unrelated, antagonistic, meaningless, parasitic and outlandish crap (I only had to look up one of these words, okay, two). When you could be sipping on a cold beer. Does anybody have one?

Don't hate me because I'm beautiful!

Looks like it ended up in 240 gen which is a little better than posting it in the SR20 forum. Why don't you make a thread in the Cali forum? It seems that your thread on looking for a good shop with SR20 experience got answered there, so why would you think you'd have better luck in the SR forum looking for a body shop?

I think this thread has more than served it's purpose, so I'm going to lock it as well.
