Model "S" on back

How come some cars have the S or SL on the back and others don't? Is that a year dependent thing? My 2007 didn't come with the S.

I think at one point they just stopped putting the "s" on those models, not sure why LoL.

my friend bought an '07 SL that didnt come with the badge.... i dont know why this is...

My 2008 came with the SL on it, I left it on so people know I bought the high model.

Nah, actually once I got the VERSA lettering off I was too tired to do any more debadging.

Interesting....I bought my 2007 SL close by in West Covina and it DOES have the SL on the back. Maybe it was more of a quality control during assembly problem that was overlooked.

most of the SL's seem to have them... rarely see an "S" with them cause it pretty much means standard i guess. i know in 08 there was no "base" model. i think 09 is when they brought that up?

I bought mine back in July '07 and it came with the S, one of the first things I took off, along with the VERSA.

Brand new 2010 1.8S HB, no "S" on the back. I was wondering about this too, as my friend's 2007 V has the S.

It is definally year depended. The earlier Versa had the model trim on the back (S or SL). The new ones now don't have them. I think '07 to '08 models has trim letters and anything newer has nothing.

As for the ones I've seen in hawaii, that seems to follow suit - unless the dealership didn't put the trim letter on.

Should just put on 'XE' just to throw people off, lol.

my 2010 SL has one, Courtesy Nissan sells them, check the site, about $6 for S $7 for SL.
