mode door actuators

I heard this clicking noise in the dash of my 2010 QX 56 Infiniti. I have had it for a while and randomly the air won't blow cold on the driver side and then will fix itself. I am pretty sure its the actuators. I know there were some recalls and bulletins I read for 2010 anyone know if there were for 2008? I am thinking not as I did a vin recall search but thought I would ask.

Any ideas on how to just get the hot air to not blow for the time being. It's about 1k to fix it and I don't have that right now. I did see a forum giving instructions on how to do it via the glove box rather than needing to take apart the whole dash.

one way to troubleshoot the stuck actuator door is:

with the fan speed on high,

start at the top dash vents.. keep the air there for about 20 seconds
then change the mode to face vents.. 20 seconds...
then mode to floor... 20 seconds.

again with fan speed on high.

sometimes this can unstick a door. this is a way nissan troubleshoot these things.

if you are handy with tools and such, you can remove the dash and replace the actuators yourself.
