Did 96 q45 have mode 6 data

I had to google to find out what the term means... so I'd say if it's available, it's not called that in the Nissan world. From what I can tell, it's a more detailed look at the data stream. Your best bet is probably seeing what the dealer can see with the "with consult" tests in the FSM, and that'll give you an idea of information might be available with the right scan tool.

1996 was the first year of OBDII for the Q, so I'd be surprised if it was more than bare bones in terms of what Nissan provided - but I really have no idea. Nissan used dual diagnostics with the Consult port and standard OBDII port for a few years after the switch.
