Anyone know anything about modifying a Nintendo DS? I've heard rumors about it but haven't looked into it at all.

I also have no idea about the MicroSD stuff...is it possible to download roms and play them on your DS through a card? Any info would be awesome.

There are special DS game cards that have built-in MicroSD slots onto which you can load ROMs. As a platform, the DS is really homebrew-friendly.

Look into Supercard DS One or R4DS. Either one should turn up the results you're looking for.

No modding is required, though. Just a flash cart and a microSD.
