I want to start modding but I wanted to get some insight from those who may have already done so or have owned a previous Altima.

First off , I've already de-badged the entire car besides the 2 nissan logos on the front and rear..

here in Florida there is no need for a front plate so that's a plus in its own

Also , I'm getting 20 % tint all the way around as soon as I get back to maryland or tomorrow if I can find a reasonable price down here in Central Florida (Had my Acura done for 90 dollars near Washington DC ) Here they are charging me 140-170 dollars

Now , the mod I see being the most difficult is installing my XenonDepot 6k HID kit. Retro fitting is not in my budget but I've had a 6k HID kit on my Acura before and It looks really clean and I love it. However , the acura (RSX) was a cinch to install, I look in the engine bay of the A/C and I see very limited working space. Anyone installed a kit on theirs yet?? Some links to bulb changing on the altima coupe would be appreciated...

OH and another thing , I would like to run just fog lights without having to have my low beams on. Anyone know how to rewire to make this happen???

?

Other than that , these are the mod's i'm working on for now , I like the way the car is turning out to look without doing too much. Modified by Chamillionaire at 2:27 PM 8/12/2007

Well as much as I love talking to myself , this is getting pretty boring

But anyway, does anyone know how to get to the drivers side low beam? I can get to the pass side easily ( just remove the washer fluid tank) but the driver side is blocked by alot of stuff ( battery and fuse box)

You should really consider using a D2R bulb if you plan on going HID. A strictly plug and play set will not put light on the road correctly. The D2R is meant for a reflective housing. Just my 2 cents.

As for a fog light rewire. I'm currently working on that. It was a popular modification for the B15 Sentra guys. I like the look of having only the fogs on. I'll keep you posted on that.

What do you mean by d2r ??? I read that the bulb size is h11 in the owners manual. I already bought the XenonDepot kit.... ???? It worked fine in my acrua which also had reflective housing

The kit comes with ballasts, ignitors and the phillips hid bulbs. A really nice set if I must say so...

As for the fogs , keep me posted on that , I'd love to get that done asap. Probably going to get A 3k HID kit and get that really clean plasma yellow look going with the fogs.

Perhaps people have lives and don't spend all of their time posting every 10 minutes like you. Just a thought.

Alright ladies. Break it up

Let me clarify what I meant in my previous post. A lot of die hard HID enthusiasts are more concerned about light output than just color output. Purchasing a plug and play kit is just fine in this scenario but for the most light on the road without causing any glare, a rebased D2R bulb that would fit your headlight would produce a greater amount of light output on the road.

As you can see from the picture, a D2R bulb has a portion of the bulb with a black strip across it. This aims the light in a reflective housing much better.

When you install yours lets a see a photo of your output. I'm just curious. By no means did you make a wrong purchase. I'm just a guy that likes functionality rather than pure looks Same goes for girls

Thanks for the response shift! I really like the smoked tails look on your color car , I don't think they'd look too hot on mine though (winter frost) and I kinda like the all red scheme on the tails. How many pieces per tail light?? Looks like it'd be pretty hard to apply considering the size of the tails.

As for the D2R , I've never heard much about them but I really liked the output my 6k XD kit put out in my RSX. Worked just fine for me, but I will def take some pics once installed. Thanks again

I just install 8k hid kit on my car and i love it... what i did was took off the front wheel and and the wheel well splash guard off, with the wheel off it have me enough room to work behind the light housing and all the wires were there for me to tap in to... this project is do able and i was able to do it...

As for me i have modded so far:35% tint all around it looks nice since my color is black on black8K hid kitGPS modLED interiour lightingmore to come soon...

Ok well I'm getting the windows tinted tomorrow , thinkin about doing 5% on the back 20 on the doors , and a 20 brow.

HID's will be installed by next week also , gonna take the front tire off approach as one member on this board described.

Other than that , no other mods besides air freshener and a nice wash tonight Hmmmm I'm trying to think of anything else I could do

IMO ... calipers being painted are a little on the "ricey" side.... but do what you want man , your car But that's just me... If anything , get some engine work going first since you're on the 2.5 set up. An intake makes a really noticeable difference and it's not too expensive. Gave my Acura RSX a nice boost and sounds great. And I would tint / HID conversion right off the bat. Halogens give poor lighting in my opinion and in my experience driving.
