I'm at the very begining of my project, I've been presented with different options and nobody mentioned working on the KA24DE that's already on my car. As I've searched I've encountered various KA engines producing well over 400 hp and some even in the 500 hp range. I know the KA engine produces a decent amount of torque. So, let's say we put the same amount of $$, (forged internals, turbo, intercooler, engine management, etc..), on two engines, one's a KA24DET and the other one is a SR20DET. Which of this engines will give me the best hp and torque figures?

Engine management will be fully programable and tuned by expert hands.

Thanks for your responses.

when ya post in the ka-t forum you can kinda guess what people are going to say. any ways man its up to you, take your time and do it right, and the reward is a car that you can love, or if you cheap out on the wrong stuff you'll hate it more than you can imagine

I dissagree. I believe that the KA has more potential then the SR. The displacement is the key. I believe this will be the year of the KA-T.

If you're going to rebuild them both anyways, you might as well go with the KA since it has more displacement. Most heavily built SR's get bumped up in displacement anyways, might as well just go with the ka and you'll have even more than the stroked SR's.

sorry Joelo S13, but this topic has been discussed so many times in so many places....it all turns into a huge debate and usually gets out of hand. besides, asking this question in the KAt forum is almost pointless. you're going to get biased responses.

i believe there's an ongoing thread in either the 240 General or Technical forum concerning this very subject. feel free to read through it. i'm sure it will answer many of your questions.

this one is closed.
