Hey guys,

These are the current mods I have planned for my 2.5SL... not too sure what else I can do to gain some power so if you have any suggestions please let me know.

Exterior Mods:SE-R Tail LightsSE-R Front EndSE-R Stock Forged Rims (Tire suggestions and brake upgrade suggestions?)Custom HID projectors (6000k)Custom or non-custom HID fog lights (3000k if I go HID)

Engine/Preformance Mods:CAI... and this is where I get lost, whats the best one for the 4cyl? Seen many suggestions for the V6 but not much for the 4cyl.

Im stuck at CAI on what else I can do to this car to gain some HP... BTW its an auto, yes I know... but I was also thinking of a 5spd swap in the near future. Im also planning on a full audio system but I want to get an idea of where I should be going with my other mods before I start doing anything. In my mind Im visioning a "2.5 SE-R" might sound pathetic, but Im talking looks wise and hopefully serious preformance wise.

Thanks!

all i can say is check out stillen.com ,for performance parts like the header/race pipe, QR-Pro Fuel/Air Management System, Ultra S Underdrive Crank Pulleys and as for the CAI.. it a war between CAI and HI-FLOW/SHORT RAM. And i had a CAI before and loved it.. but the down fall to that is if you live in a place that has alot of rain fall you can easily suck in some water and thats no fun. but now with the hi-flow and i can say that the hi-flow you deff get more HP out of it and never worry about water getting into it, plus it also has a quicker response when putting your foot down. you can look into weapon-R intakes, injen and stillen for intakes.

hope this helped some . good luck

Personally, I wouldn't even mess with the lights. The wheels would look nice and having forged wheels from the SER would not only be an upgrade but would make your 2.5 look good too.

I would fore go the CAI. I think you can do better mods doing header, exhaust, pullies and so on. Stillen is a great place to start and they are an sponsor of NICO.

Hey thanks for the tips guys!

Well see where I am the weather is really random... just recently we had rain, next morning it started to snow so sucking in some water would be a huge thing to me since I don't want to get hydrolocked so I might look into a hi-flow and will definitely check out the recomendations.

I might skimp out on the SE-R tails, but I definitely want proper HID's and foglights since mine didn't come with factory foglights either.

The rims is a 100% for sure thing, the moment I saw those rims on the SE-R I told myself I either want the car or the rims. All I know is that I want to upgrade my brakes and tires once I get the forged rims that way thats all done with in one shot. Any suggestions on tires and possibly brakes?

Oh and my altima is Silver and has the factory spoiler but I really like the SE-R sort of lip style spoiler. Easy conversion?

Once again, thanks!

I'll chime in here with a general rule of thumb I like to follow. Make your car fast before investing in the showy mods. Everyone laughs at a car that's all show and no go.

So, I would go with whatever intake you want, it isn't going to make much difference and you're not going to hydrolock it unless you're a retard. A CAI will allow you to tune for slightly more timing since the cooler air may lower the knock threshold a little.

Next, you will see decent gains with a header and exhaust system.

Next, add cams.

Next, add nitrous.

Last, get a piggy-back tuning unit (SAFC-2 or SAFC-NEO) and get it tuned professionally on a dyno before flogging it.

I'm guessing these mods will quickly take out the automatic transmission dual-mass flywheel and then you can do the 5-speed or 6-speed MT swap.

The crank pulley is a harmonic balancer, not just something that can be replaced with a CNC machined piece of alumninum. Don't waste your money. I put crank pulley's on the same level as a throttle body spacer, worthless.
