I'm curious if anyone has placed a spare tire in its place under the third row seat. It appears it would fit. Or perhaps a mod utilizing the area. As for me I think the ride on the run flats is harsh and noisy in comparison to standard tires on the demo we drove.

I've always used my spare compartment as storage since I have towing coverage with my Ins.

Do you really want to get your insurance company involved when you get a flat tire?

Um, it's complimentary roadside assistance. Why would I pay to have it towed myself? They also change your flat tire for you. Why the hell would I not use this service? At a minimum the car gets towed back to my shop so I can work on it with the correct tools and equipment. Not some ridiculous scissor jack.

It should also be noted that a metric ton of people no longer use the stock wheels and tires. So using a spare might present a situation where the wheels and tires are mismatched in size.

In you guys opinion I should avoid using this service because of the horror of making a phone call? Sell crazy someplace else, we're all full here.

in my trunk i carry a fully charged Milwaukee m18 impact wrench, with the correct socket size already on it. i also have the gay oem jack already out in the tool bag, ready to go. all i need to do, is remove the spare from its respective location.
it literally takes me under 10 minutes to change my flat. by the time you are done with your phone call, i will already be on my way.

but you did make a good point regarding aftermarket rim sizes and spare tires

How many flat tires do you get to carry an impact gun around with you? And an expensive one none-the-less.

THANKFULLY i almost never get a flat tire(once so far in the rogue) i plug it without even removing the wheel off the car. i layed down and pushed the plug in, and used the high volume air compressor i carry in my car.
also, i am the 'go to guy' for my family. ms.imstricken, sister, mom, dad, and dad's multiple limo company vehicles.

PS: i suggest every 'car guy' get that impact. i love it. over 167 foot pounds of torque. i will be buying a new milwaukee cordless impact, thats over 1,100 foot pounds of torque in reverse, and 700+ forward. lol

It's a guy thing, you wouldn't understand.
KIDDING!!! :rotfl
Amongst his many activities, 5.56 also races bikes. Lugging around a high volume air compressor probably comes in handy.

I know how to change a tire bro ;). I've never experienced a flat in sunny/warm/welcoming weather. It's always cold and or nasty. Plus I'm 40 and not in a hurry. I make the call and catch up on some reading :bigthumb:

Same here Stokerwes. What is your opinion of the run flats since you've run on them for a while.

I don' t mind them. Although the ride is a little less comfrable than standard tires its fine.
I'll measure e cost of standard along with the spare and rim and jack. To see if the exta cost is worth it. I'm thinking it won't be and I'll more than likely get another set of RF tires.

I honestly didn't know how big of a storage area is down there...popped up the third row just now and was kinda surprised by how big that area is there...
they seemed to have filled 75% of it with a gaint foam wheel with a few storage compartments...is this reducing some noise or something? Seems like a lot of functional space...

Also, the left area that is supposed to hold the jack and stuff is empty i guess because i have the run flats...seems like a fun area to stick something but no idea what =p
