How much for the wonder-chip?Ebay is full of gimmicks. Most 'chips' they sell are a resistor that fools the ECU into thinking there is a colder air mixture and it provides more timing advance. With a high enough octane fuel this may gain you 1 or 2 HP under ideal conditions.Under less than idea conditions (probably most of your driving depending on the climate, etc.), the ignition may actually retard, as the ECU might think air density is higher. I am sure if you bought a legitimate ECU mod it would include lots of documentation and manufacturer support and you would not have to ask how or where to hook it up. I have no idea where you would tap off 5 volts, but would not spend much time looking for it.

probably one of those useless resistors you put on the air intake temp sensor...

Throw this thing in the garbage, its not worth messing with your wires.

Is it worth spending $800 - 1200 on a performance chip? What are the benefits? disadvantages? risks? If this is something I should look into, what brand(s) should I look into?

There isn't a "performance chip" for our cars, only a PCM re-flash. Its worth it if you have a large power adder like boost apps or NOS.

All I've done so far is the Stillen Catback and Z-tube. Ordered the Plenum spacer yesterday, so that will be my next move. With these mods (decided against NOS and most likely will never Supercharge this car), is it worth the money? Will I get hp?

Not in my opinion...you might gain a few HP, but not worth the cash. Save for the charger!

Just doing some research on the motordyn website to see if there is anything else I can do while I have the mechanic under the hood. Has anybody out there installed the Iso Thermal MREV? I don't even know what this is, so I'm looking for a little information.

Also, should the "Copper Iso Thermal upgrade with Aramid gasket and Copper Throttle Body Heater" be added along with the Plenum spacer? Does the spacer come with this already?

I'm getting a little, or way, beyond my grasp of cars and need some guidance here.

Thanks
