If it ever gets bad here in San Diego county, I'm moving to Texas. My dad's got property there with no smog requirements for his vehicles(plus I have family in Austin).

Might be humid there, but it would be a small price to pay...

ask for a dyno printout?...

then for the calibration cert on all the equipment and the dyno and proof that the dyno is sensitive to local conditions (most have a probe) and for manufacturers proof that the equipment retains its calibration while being transported and proof the people operating it where officers of the law and were trained to use the equipment.

then while they are looking for all this go register your car with a friend in another state

Yeah...that's funny too. Despite all the restrictions in Cali, people still roll around with some of the hottest rides. Of course we are going to bend the rules a little. All that crap is not going to deter me from living there. Sure the cost of living is high...but the pay makes up for it.

Houses are riduclously priced? Sure, but when you sell the house you'll make a profit, unlike other states where you risk losing money or just breaking even. There's more money to be made in realstate in cali than any other state in the US.

Plus the women are hot...we got beaches, mountains, cities and open country (if that floats your boat).

IMO, you just can't beat it. Others are just hating...

In-N-Out = YUM!! Too bad they're closed right now I would seriously get some.

I doubt this mobile smog will last they don't have the money to fund this, they're just doing it to make a statement out to remind us that they're incharge and they haven't forgotten about smog.

Not all places in CA have smog either I think its depends on elevation level(?) I forgot...

I also find it funny to whoever chime in and bash California. I guess it's just to vent out their frustrations of living wherever the hell they live at.

This has been hapening in ORANGE COUNTY for the past 4 years already, now it doesnt matter if you have a C.A.R.B legal turbo kit, if it doesnt not pass the "open emissions" test then your still screwed, pay attention when you drive, HEAVY TRAFFIC MIGHT NOT BE A CAR ACCIDENT BUT INSTEAD MIGHT BE A FREE SMOG CHECK instead....

someone should invent a smog check bypass device that at the push of a button or pull of a cable, your exhaust will switch to another muffler tucked away somewhere and the "sniffer" plugged into your tail pipe won't read anything. LOL.

Well they have that exhaust bypass thing that sort of works like that, except the opposite, when full throttle or at certain levels of boost it effectively makes your exhaust spit out of the downpipe, otherwise it goes through the stock exhaust.

Im sure you could modify it to work with a button or switch. Albiet im sure they would notice if your car suddenly got stupid loud.
