I'm thinking, with the advent of phone such as this, and the fact that mobile internet is growing very popular, why doesn't nico make a mobile site? Is my idea warranted, or do you think it'd be more of a pain than it was worth?

An interesting idea to be sure. The issue here is this: is it worth the time and money to invest into something like this? I'd say while it may be a good idea, those phones are 3-5 years away from being big enough to warrant the need for a mobile site.

True, but seeing as how we already have the infrastructure, making a wap site wouldn't be too hard.

Its something to keep in mind, but I dont think its something worthwhile now. Mobile internet is just now becoming popular enough for people to want to use it.....

Good god, I could have 24/7 NICO access..... WOOHOO.. ITd be cool if the phone vibrated or rang when you got a reply to a thread.....

Mine does;)

If the site supports service alerts then it will alert you when important events (ie replies) happen.

Better to get a laptop with the Sony Ericssen GPRS card - I have access to NICO anywhere I go.

Yes, such is the life of a true NICO/car addict... on weekends I have this page up all the time, though I'm usually away from my computer, if this happened and I had one of those phones I could have it up anytime I'm out too...

I agree with the hitman on this one. I used to do AIM on my cell phone just to kill time at work... but found it was an abysmal experience wasting airtime typing on that darn thing.

Maybe a wireless Palm with a keyboard would work. At that point, a laptop with CDPD or any other wireless would be better and cheaper.
