Is Mobil 1 10w-30 full syn a good oil for the winter time in the rb25? I'm in the pacific northwest so its 30-50degrees all winter. I've heard the arguments about smoking with the full syns, is that just in summer?

synthetics burn more easily than nons at anytime of the year.

I used 10w30 supersyn in my ITR engine and never had any problems with it burning at 8000+ rpm. I don't know if I'll use it in the RB though.. I'll probably try non synthetic first.

What is Nissan's suggestion for skyline oil? If a 10w is too thin, should I run a 15w-30?

10w/5w are basically the same thing.

Either one will work.

Nissan reccomends 7.5W30 for RB's typically. If you want to get that spec you can probably mix two 10's and two 5's.

I personally use 10w30s. I suggest you research oil basics and viscosity.. doesn't hurt a bit and it'll help you make your decision.

I've always used Mobil-1 and had great results with it...in other cars. I want to use a "top of the line" oil for my rb25 so I naturally looked to Mobil-1. If 10W-30 is the right type, which brand should I be using? I've heard that there are new kinds of syns that don't cause leaks. What should I look for?
