My Maxima makes a moaning noise from the drivers side rear wheel area when I take a turn or slight cornring. It sounds almost like something is rubbing back there but I am not sure. I was wondering if someone thought that it might be a bad rear shock or something more major. I changed the brakes last year but it was doing this b4 that. It dosent do it all the time just every once in a while. If anyone has any insight I would greatly appreciate it.

Sounds like a wheel bearing to me. Easy way to test for it, if it's making noise like that, is to jack up the rear wheels and grab the spring and spin the wheel. If you feel a vibration through the spring, you have a bad wheel bearing.

Guys I feel like I've been misled, yall did'nt mention the fact that the hub assy. has to be replaced to fix the bearings. You where right NSRA32 I did feel a vibration in my rear spring, thanks 4 the info.

Hey man i was just kidding about the mis led part, I figured it would be as easy as changing wheel bearings but it is a whole hub assy. I did jack up the car and turn the wheels but I can get no vibration or movement of any kind, should I go ahead and replace them both or is there another problem?

Found the problem, rear brakes were shot. Pads and rotors, replaced all, life is good again.
