I also recommend this to everyone. Don't know what happened, but z32 fuel filter was cheaper than s13's. Make sure to pull out fuel pump fuse while car is running to release the pressure if you work on something fuel related BTW.

or pull out the fuse while the car isn't running and then crank the ignition a few times.

yep, i took off my gas cap, pulled the fuse under the hood, cranked it up, it ran for awhile actually i was like WTF!? but it would only idle it wouldnt respond to throttle pressure. it finally died after about 2 mins. i even cranked it a couple times after it died to make all the pressure leave. removal and installation was about 5 mins. well worth it!

nice , i'll look into doing this this weekend. is there a how to anywhere? and does it matter what model year you ask for on the 300z fuel filter? sorry if that seems like a dumb question but im a novice mechanic. i just got tired of paying people to do stuff i could do at home if i just researched and asked questions. thanks

Any year z32 filter should be alright, but I went with TT filter. I have 2nd filter in my car right now and top cover has been changed from metal to plastic, so bottom nipple is metal and top is plastic for the 2nd filter. I'd like to break it and check the inside after next filter change. Want to see how dirty it gets. Tried with the metal one and failed to open it up.

Try K&N drop in air filter. It makes bit of difference too. It's usuable, so if you will keep the stock air box for a while, worth a try IMHO.

So you really noticed an improvement with the K&N drop in replacement filter huh? $40 seems kinda pricy but that the heck, it's only money...

I would say slightly better response when you hit the pedal. Besides, it's reusable, so you buy only once and clean it up when it's get dirty. I've heard people put too much oil when they clean up, and it destroys MAF sensor. Should be alright if you are careful.
