I have an s14 sr in my s14 with quiet a few mods. My turbo is a gt2871r and I was wondering how much boost is to much for the stock head gasket. Im running 256 and 264 hks cams. Any Ideas would be very helpful. Thanks

all depends on your engine and how it has been treated. i've heard guys on here running around 15-18psi on the stock head gasket. but if your engine has been mistreated and even a little warped that greatly increases the chance it will blow. if you are planning on running more then 15psi daily a metal headgasket would be a good investment.

yeah I was told that low boost through the week....around 13psi and up to 20psi on the weekends is ok. Jeff at heavythrottle had mentioned that to me on the phone. I guess 20psi every now and then is ok. I really wanna hit the 400hp mark.

It’s not a lot of cash, and it wont take a lot of time

But I would recommend getting a new and better head gasket

I have a cometic stock bore and compression.it was under 100.00 i think.. also..

Yeah I can get the cometic one for about 50 bucks. I have wholesale accounts with titan motorsports and three other companies. I was just told that itd cost about 300 to install. Ill have to wait awhile to get it put on.
