I'm in the market for a 1st gen G35 sedan; one of the three sedans I'm looking at has navigation. I have a head unit that I'd like to install, it's a Premier DEH-P880PRS. I love this deck and I really want it in my new car... but I want to make sure that it will communicate with the sat-nav before I purchase a car.

I'd rather have a G35 with no nav with this HU instead of a stock unit with sat-nav. But I'd rather have the Premier with the navigation if at all possible.

Does anyone know it'll be compatible?

Thanks in advance!

I'm honestly not too familiar with how the G nav is set up. I did something similar to what you are proposing in an Acura once, and it was not worth the hassle by a long shot. Make your life easy and find one without the nav, or just pull it out and sell it and make a few bucks.

What all was involved with the Acura? I know it's not going to be the same with the G, but I figured I'd give it a look. I'll aska few of my friends that install stereos and see if I can get a clue as to how to do it.

Honestly its been so long I don't remember. It just never really worked well after we were done doing what the customer wanted.

I can't remember on the G35, does it have separate buttons for the Nav, or is it controlled through the radio buttons. If it is controlled though the radio buttons then it's not going to happen with the Premier. If it has separate buttons then you have a slightly better chance of it working.
