i recently got my hands on a mitsubishi td-04 turbo. its off of a volvo s60. i was wondering will this fill my power goals(230ish rwhp). i am extremely retarded and cannot read a compressor map. any info is much appreciated!

Yey! Finally a Volvo question!

Do you know if the turbo came from a T5? If yes, keep it, T5 got a 16T turbo from factory and good for 330 bhp, 270-280 whp depending on transmission loss.

Keep the Volvo oil return pipe and cut it in the right lenght, you can also use the water pipes but custom steel braided is better.

If you got the 13T from a 2.4T or 2.5T, sell it. Will max out at 270 bhp.

I know the turbo I got from the WRX is designated as a Td-04, and its way too small. I dont know about the volvo turbo though.

hey swedish mike, how would i tell if it is the 16T or the 14T?

There are tons of TD04´s but Volvo got a custom serie from 12T to 19T, T3 flange and reaches from 150 to 370 hp.Best turbo´s I´ve used, great spool up and can handle a lot of boost. Also crazy quality, will last forever.

You got a small Volvo plate on the compressor housing. Last three letters/numbers will tell.

The 14T can give you around 270 hp at the crank, maybe a bit more.18 psi is perfect for the 14T, a lot of hot air after that, max is around 22 psi.
