Missing Monroney sticker

Discussion of Infiniti's amazing (and underrated) sport-luxury crossovers, the EX35 and EX37. For 2014, the EX series will be renamed QX50, in line with Ininfiit's new naming conventions.

Bought an EX after much research, several test drives and reading this forum for over a year, and love the car. However...there was no Monroney sticker in the car. Dealer said he'd "try to find it," but several days later, no luck. I know enough about EXs to verify it has the equipment the dealer said it has, and to know that the price I paid was appropriate, but should I worry? Is there some future issue I might encounter because I don't have the sticker?

They should not have problem printing you the MSRP/INVOICE sheet on the vehicle with Correct VIN on it, unless they are giving you false info on the pricing.

Welcome to NICO and congrats on the car, JBjr!!

I'm glad you've found this forum useful, but I have to ask ... what the heck is a "Monroney sticker"?!?!

Cheers,David

I had similar issue.. contact infiniti support and they will mail you a window sticker and or verify equipment via vin, it may take a week or two for them to ship it out however they will keep you well informed on the status.

Thanks, Punjab, for the advice - I'll follow up on that. David, a "Monroney" sticker is the new car sticker dealers are required to have in the window (named after the Oklahoma senator who got the law requiring such stickers passed about 50 years ago - bet you wanted to know that). It's a felony punishable by a fine and a year in jail to sell a new car without one - good thing for the Infiniti dealer in Scottsdale that I'm not the vindictive type.

on a side note...are car makers now storing the Monroney stickers somewhere digitally? The reason i ask is that some used car dealers I find on the internet have a digitally reproduced sticker that lists the options and the orig msrp.

Having the window sticker on the car is one way to know that the car has not been titled and sold before, or was used as a demo. How many miles were on the car when you picked it up? Did the dealer represent the car as brand new, never titled or used as a demo?

"Try to find it" is a lame response.

A great question - the car had 240 miles when I bought it, and although the salesman never said it had been used as a demo or loaner, I assumed that had been the case and took that into account when haggling over the price. But I did find it interesting that they never volunteered any information on how it had been used or how the mileage had accumulated. The car had never been titled, according to the paperwork, so I was still thinking that a sticker was required. And yes, "we're looking for it" is pretty weak.
