Missing from QX4 console

Still way down on the learning curve on these vehicles, but the wife noticed it looks like some sort of a tray or shelf or something is missing from the console storage area. Good point, why have two different sections that latch with a hole in it, it would serve no purpose. Looked in the parts breakdown but didn't see anything, can someone describe or ideally throw a pic out there so I know what should be there? My guesstimate of where it would go is the red outline.

yes you are missing a piece, it has 2 tabs in the front where you can raise it and get to the bottom part. My 98 pathfinder has one. I would upload a pic but don't know how.

just 2 days ago i broke the hinge on the arm rest that lifts up. I couldn't believe it after all the years it lasted. i was bummed. I am going to try and fix it somehow. So be careful lifting the arm rest. I thought i was lifting the bottom part and pulled up hard and snapped the plastic side hinge on the top part. you can see in the picture it is missing but still works with the metal hinge.

Thanks guys, that helps. I was thinking about trying to make one but trying to get it to snap in will be a problem. At least I know more now. Will one from a Pathfinder work or is it QX4 only?

That's just what I was thinking of. There's a Pick and Pull nearby that I think shows a couple of Paths in stock, I guess it's time for a visit. I'm afraid a full service yard either wouldn't bother or just keep it as part of the console assembly.

you are correct, they would make you buy the whole console just for that one part. pick and pull all the way. I am working on replacing the inner and outer tie rods and ball joint. Finished one side today and will do the next side tomorrow. Good luck on your adventure.

Keep an eye out for the insert that goes into that single large cupholder while you're at it. Those things are worth their weight in gold since apparently everyone's lost theirs and you can't buy them individually
