I noticed the upper two bolts missing on the rearmost exhaust manifold flange. I bought the car used a little while back and since then it has hesitated/bucked when cold and very light throttle. Could the missing bolts/exhaust leak be the cause I wonder?

I'll prolly get a chance to fully attach the manifold this weekend sometime. We shall see.

had mine missing on my ka but didn't make much difference, the other bolts held and had no leaks. The bolts might cause exhaust leak though, might want to check around though for leaks around there by checking for pulses of air.

I just bought an '89 240 the other day and it is missing the exact same exhaust manifold bolts.

The car sounds like an aircooled bug or something.

Well, turned out there were 3 of 4 bolts missing. But, replacing them did not fix the problem. Granted I didn't replace the gasket, but the problem didn't get any better. I think my next step is to replace the motor mounts.
