I just bought a 1991 Nissan 300zx twin turbo, after driving it for a couple days the ignition coil connector came loose and made it start missfiring, i pushed the connector back on and it stopped missfiring so i was pretty sure that was the problem. When that connector came off i was at work so i had to drive it twenty miles home and the connector was cutting in and out. About halfway home the connector stopped working all together so i limped it home and parked it. I ordered the connector it took about a week to get here, as soon as i got it, i hooked it up by stripping the wires and splicing them, then wrapping them in electrical tape ( I noticed there was a green petina on the copper when i was stripping the wires). After that i started it up and it was still missfiring, it was also making this decently loud tick/knock sound, so needless to say that sketched me out so i shut it off and have'nt done anything since. I could use any help i can get on this, as well as any information i can get. Also it would be great if someone could ease my worries and tell me that there shouldn't be anything seriously wrong with it, cause that sound definatley has me worrying. I was thinking maybe the fuel sitting in the cylinder might have messed something up. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks

You should first check to see if you're throwing any error codes:

It could be that besides the ignition coil you have another issue, like a faulty injector.
