Hey guys, just talked to my buddy who bought my old white S13. He was telling me about the engine and what's going on with it and happened to mention he put a new radiator in there.

I had a Mishimoto in there, looked like a real quality piece when I bought it, weld's looked good etc. Well he told me that he was going down the road one day and he noticed the temp was climbing fast. Pulled over and popped the hood... Apparently the welds are not that great, they had cracked all the way down one side and water was slowly coming out.

So I guess word to the wise, if you have one, inspect it. If you don't have one... Go Griffin Cross-flow =)

Hmmm, mine seems to be holding up, had it on my sohc, dohc and now my ca. I'll definatly have to keep an eye on it now though if there seems to be an issue with them.

we all must remember, one defective product doesn't mean the whole line is defective. There are probably hundreds if not thousands of these radiators out there that are holding up just fine.

I love my CX radiator. My buddy Trey had several pinholes in the welds on his Mishimoto when he did his sr swap. Thats why I got a CX instead

Any idea which Griffin? I can't find any Griffin with the end tanks at the top and bottom. Found a universal Chevy dual-pass radiator, that would fit by total size alone, but the end tanks are at the sides, taking away 5" of cooling area width...

MISHIMOTO has a great warranty, a friend of mine was installing his rebuilt T28 in his gti-r and toasted his mishimoto rad, he contacted them, explained the situation and they'll honour the warranty... (lifetime guarantee, i think?)
