just got a ca18det swap but its misfiring and sputtering like crazy, especially at low revs and starting out, smoothens out once it gets going at higher revs. it struggles to climb up slopes and when sputtering giving more gas doesn't help. i havent wired up the knock sensor yet. i don't know where it is idling at as my tach is bouncing all over the place. my car's a '91 240sx, so i thought the dohc tach should work, maybe a bad ground? where should the cas should be set to? it seems to be on the end of its adjustment range, (shouldn't it be somewhere inbetween its range?)pls advice on what could be the most likely cause of the problem, knock sensor, ground or cas? thanx

You have pretty much nailed it all. Your knock sensor will definatly prevent it from reving out naturally if it is not hooked up.

CA's love grounds make sure you have enough in the right places.

And don't mess around with the CAS with out cruising through the FSM to do it right.
