My car is a SOHC.My friend did a compression test and the cylinder shows 155 on all of the 4 cylinders. There was oil on the thread of the plugs so we clean it off and all of the plugs look like it was fouled out with carbon except for cylinder 1. Put everything back and started the car. Then I feel the car misfiring. Drove home and replace the valve cover gasket, caps, rotors, and PCV valve. Didnt replace the Bosch spark plugs but I have new NGK wires. Didnt replace the O2 sensor because didnt have the tools. The alternator is kinda weak too. Its still good though. Now its still misfiring, when accelerating and idling. Should I replace my spark plugs? Can o2 sensors cause misfire? What should I do right now? What should I change?

Make sure you pluged the wires to the right spark plug from the distributor. That's the most logicla thing since all of your high side ignition system is new. Since all of your spark plugs were fouled you need to check and see why the car is running rich and check the ignition timing. If that don't work post agian and tell me the detials.

Change the spark plugs and then see why the car was running rich then check the ignition timing. Then your cafr should run better.

I changed the o2 sensors last night and saw immediate improvement. The gas mileage improve and the car ran smoother. Still feel a slight misfire when accelerating and there is definitely misfiring when idling. Im not changing spark plugs yet, want the NGK ones though. Check my injector on all cylinders is working good, so my guess now is that the spark plugs is bad. And last time I check my timing the timing was retarded to around 10. The guy say he changed it but I dont feel anything different so I'll check it again and change it myself this time.

What is a good price on NGK plugs?
