Last week my car started to make the noise as if one of the spark plug wire went bad but while i was driving it went away. I changed all of the spark plugs and then everything was fine until this week. This week its back and i figured out that the number 1 and 2 cylinder ignition coils werent working. I replaced them with new ones but that did not fix anything. I used the number 4 cylinder coil wires for the new coil and it worked fine. I have no idea what the problem would be other than the wires? Im not sure what would cause just the number 1 and 2 cylinder wires not to work. The feeling is when im driving, my car shakes and has a weird sound to it. I thought it may be the injectors but idk if that would cause the coil wires not to work? The engine is fairly new with 50,000 miles on it.

By ignition wires you are not talking about the coil packs are you? You are talking about the wires from the PTU to the coil packs? Are the connectors corroded/broken? Do you have the recalled PTU or the new version with a subharness? Check all the connections for corrosion.

bad ptu, the ptu is what sends the signals to the cop's dead channels ont he ptu equals no spark at the cop

ok i found it and the connection was loose. so i put it together making sure it was tight and put it back. my car was fixed for about 5 minutes then the misfired happened again but it isnt as bad this time. could it be the coil this time or do i need a new ptu?

Run the engine and wiggle the connector, see if it misfires then works ok then misfires.

Ok i tried to do that and heres what happened. I pulled my car into the garage and turned it off because i had to go inside. I came back out to the car, found the wire and connected it as well as i could. I tried to start my car and it wouldnt start. I turned the key and nothing happened. Does that mean it went dead or would this be a different problem?

well i already know that there was something wrong with the PTU. If the PTU goes bad will the car not start?
