The problem gradually came. It started intermittently but now its constant.
I dont drive my car in its current condition. The moment i start it up big puffsof white
smoke exit the exhaust, it can idle but the moment i add gas throught the rmp range theres a constant sputter and it can get
pretty violent. replaced wires cap and rotor NTK iridiums are now black from the unburt fuel. all cylinders seem to be misfiring
and yes i checked my wires are in the correct position. This problem gradually came, i never touched anything.

any ideas? 97 KA

I just rebuilt the motor and havnt had any problems up until this.
The timing chain is brand new OSK. if the timing jumped a tooth it would not have been intermittent.
anything eles??

White smoke means coolant.

Also, wtf do you need iridium for? Your car isn't turbo...

Could be fuel as well. And in this case seems more likely, considering he has good compression.

I said MAF, not O2, but the more I think about it, the more it seems like a spark issue. Start double checking your connections.

Well then, lets talk about his fpr then, that would definitely cause a few of those symptoms...

Completely slipped my mind, but yeah that would definitely do it. FPR may have failed. Would also explain why it was gradual.

Compress is good, so hopefully you not burting coolant. I would....

Check for intermix to be sure\
Pull codes
Check fuel pressure on the rail,
Check for vacuum leaks
Check AFR
Check ignition timing
Check EGR /PCV
