ok my car is cutting out really bad i cant figure out what it is. I thought it was a dirty fuel filter but i changed it and its still the same. So i changed plugs. the old ones were ok but i changed them anyway. Still cuts out it sounds like a tractor. So does anyone have any idea why its misfiring???

It is most likely a fuel related problem. Have you checked the ECU for codes yet?

maybe the fuel computer itself is going bad or has a short? I would also check that.

I just overcame a miss myself in a '90 n/a. i used chevron techron to clean the fuel system. then i checked all the injectors, and when all else failed i cleaned the air filter and ignition module. I guess there was a factory recall and some of them didn't get replaced. The old one looks like an aluminum heat dissipator or something. I'd suggest you do the latter two before you tear into it any more.

also, sometimes the injectors can stick. If you tap on them (not too hard) with a screw driver and mallot they might get the crud knocked loose. i'd be really careful doing that one though.

might want to check your coil pack connectors as well they are a common problem
