Hey guys! Just wanted to talk to my fellow coupers about a few things since it's getting cold. First up: Battery. Well, it's getting cold over here in New Jersey and I noticed that my battery needs to be replaced (cold start-up is a little rough). What is possibly one of the best batteries to replace the factory one with? Next up: Not really sure if there's a connection between these two, but my driver side bose speaker in the door crapped out on me and whenever it's cold, my driver side window goes up really really slow and almost stops midway. I do have tints, but I have no idea what's causing the window to go up really slow. Also, I have no idea why my speaker doesn't work...still have warranty so the speaker can be replaced for free at the stealership, right? Not sure if anyone has experienced this, but any feedback would be great. Last but not least: Brakes. I remember reading something on the forums about brakes being squeeky when it's cold. It does go away by the time I get to the stop sign at the end of my street, but is there really anything to do about it? I have 20,000 miles on my car and I doubt my brakes are worn out already. I know this is a lot, but any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks!

The best battery you can buy for very cold and hot weather will be an Optima "RedTop" battery. I've had my Optima RedTop battery in my daily driver for 9 years now and it's never failed on me. It still cranked after I let the car sit for three months straights during the deep cold New England winter.

It's evident to me that the Bose speakers in the Altima are low quality when compared to other Bose equipped vehicles I've owned in the past. Just have the dealership replace the speaker while your car is still under warranty. It's also not uncommon for power window motors to under perform during really cold weather as well. But it may still be worth having the dealership inspect the matter while you still have warranty left on your vehicle.
