Like all 240s my power steering line started leaking. I got the replacement hose from DJButton ([email protected]) and had a mechanic install it for $75. Money well spent in my book. He also installed new NISMO exhaust hangers I bought a while ago. Now the BRM sits up nice and tight. The car still pulls slightly to the left even after a 2-wheel alignment. Looking at doing a 4-wheel next – probably should have started with that.

I’m also looking at replacement steering wheels. There are some good posts on the general forum but wanted my vert brethren’s opinions. I’m not going to race this car and want a wheel that is the same distance as the OEM and basically the same size. Suggestions?

I’m also going to start squirreling away parts for a 5-speed swap. I won’t do the work myself but either help or take it to someone a hell of a lot smarter than me. So it’s time to hit the 5-speed swap thread which has now grown to like 10 pages ;>)

Good to hear that you sorted out power steering leak. I looked into aftermarket steering wheels to before, but I didn't like any, so decided to keep original steering wheel. Most aftermarket steering wheels will seat closer to you than OEM one. Any particular reason you want to replace steering wheel?

No real reason other than something different. The old wheel still looks fine. I hadn't driven the car in a while becasue of the leak. Driving it today just got me thinking what to do next. I've done all the easy/cheap mods.

My thinking is mods in this order:5-speed (~$500?)brake upgrade (maybe 5-lug as well)wheelsKA-T (maybe)

Just focus on 5 speed swap if there's no problem with the steering wheel. I have some 5 speed misc parts that you might want. I'll email you about those.

I really love the look of the S15 silvia steering wheels. Who was it that just installed one here? I'll have to look again. Was there some issue with the airbags not working on that wheel if transplanted?

Otherwise, you could probably look into buying the stock wheel.. but finding one in better condition.

I agree that the 5 spd swap is the most rewarding upgrade of the ones you listed. I'd go that route first.

5 lug, brakes, and wheels would be a great package, and I'd do them all at once... maybe even coilovers at the same time.. but that's an expensive set of upgrades!!!

You're paint is SO clean! Looks like new still. Nice job keeping it fresh and nice.

I think the air bags have to be removed. Isn't there an explosive charge that deploys them?

The car was freshly painted right before I bought it - lucky me! I love posting ramdom pics of it in this post

Ask midgets to hold the air bag down.

The air bag is electronically triggered. You shouldn't have to worry about it. The most "dangerous" part about removing the airbag is while it's in the car. Even then you shouldn't have to be too concerned about it if the battery is disconnected and removed.

I would suggest removing the airbag before installing the wheel in your car though.

The s13 Silvia wheel is great and far less expensive. Look at some other factory Nissan wheels for something you like.

OH yeah, do the 5-speed first, then suspension, then boost. I think that's the best way to upgrade the vert. Each of those upgrades provides plenty of enjoyment until you get to the next stage.

Lastly, you should submit some pictures for the calendar.

That rear window shot alone is already calendar worthy to me.

After 5 speed swap, your cruise control might work. Mine doesn't work, but I've heard from several people saying that their cruise control on s13 works. You might want to see how it turn and then decide wether you want to replace the steering wheel or not.

I did suspension upgrade first and did 5 swap later.
