I Have searched ;But i wanted to find any other opinions on what may be occuring. Here are the symptoms. Car was bogging out at idle when i turned off the a/c unit. Found spark plug wire loose (#4) ... reconnected. Still haveing problems with idling. Checked plugs wires again... #4 loose again. Replaced wires(cheepos) , plugs (bosch +4) distributer cap and rotor (el cheepo), O2 Sensor (bosch universal). Now after 3 weeks, i smell strong fumes on the driver side (outside) of my car smelling like gas. Leaking only condensation. Also now my car will lag especially while on cruise control @ 45 mph (being followed by cops) it felt like it should down shift but didnt. No error codes on ecu (55). Just recently (past 600 miles) put 3 quarts of SAE 50 valvaline VR1 and 1 Quart of lucas oil stabalizer + 1 K&N oil filter. Previous to that i flushed engine completly. My question is that what could be causing the smell of gas when there are no apparent leaks under my car or in my engine bay. i can only see the heat under my car (easily mistaken for vapors). Also what kind of oil to use i have 110,000 miles on my engine and the flush showed no oil leaks. Also after idling for a while i hear a noisy *** lifter.

Check your gas cap its seal might be bad. Your canister is also located under the car near the back if I remember correctly. see if its hoses are all attached[vapor line could have come off] I assume the car is running ok at this point no more bogging or anything after replacing the wires and O2?

no more bogging, just surge sometimes, or hesitation shifting (mostly down shifting) and sometimes the smell of gas

I had the Bosch +4 Platnium and my car idled like hell, i would suggest to get some NGK iridum plugs, or NGK platniums. Bosch time and time again are not really good for the car. What do you mean by it just surges sometimes?

My car smelled like gas too, I doubt it has anything to do with the fuel filter, but when I replaced it, smell was gone.

if i am doing around 65-70 mph and engage cruise control or just hold the speed my rpms will surge a little bit and act as if it should down shift (automatic)
