hey guys my car has been turbo for about 2 weeks now. I've been driving around town out of boost to break it in a lil. I just recently hooked up my avc-r. Previous to this i just had my mechanical boost gauge. I hooked up my avcr to the fuel pressure regulator just like the instrutions say. I hooked my boost gauge to the same vac line on the intake manifold as my turbo xs rfl bov. would this be messing up my boost readings. On my autometer boost gauge i would give it a lil gas and the vac would go up to like -15psi but on my avc-r its already at like - 30mm hg. Im not the best at conversions but my autometer gauge should be closer to zero. This is only on slightly hard acceleration. If i ease into the throttle the readings are closer. Any ideas? Thanks guys

what does it read when you compare peak boost? autometers are notorous for reading off after a year or so when the spring gets weak.

my autometer reads one psi more then what my blitz reads. and off course when the engine is off, i'm boosting 1 psi according to my autometer lol. and before i had this one, my older autometer was reading -1 psi when the engine is off.

well my autometer gauge is a vac/boost gauge so when the car is off it is at zero. The car isn't tuned yet so i don't know wat it reads at full boost. I haven't even put it into boost yet. My avc-r is in mm/hg im not great with conversions but if my autometer is at -10 psi my avc-r should be at around -75mm/hg right? They are way off and i don't know which one is right!!

well run it at 0 with the auto meter or 1 psi and see if it reads 0 or pretty close to 0 on your avcr

-15psi = 30" hg. Since there is no such thing as -15psi they use " Mercury (or Hg). There is a nearly 2:1 relationship between the pressure and vacuum scales. Since all gauges are made (and therefore must be calibrated to) ambient pressure, you must realize that you boost gauge at 0 means atmospheric. Therefore, in a perfect vacuum there would be 30" mercury drawn in a barometer, or -15 psi. Get it?
