There is the NavHack that will override the parking and speed sensors to watch the DVDs and operate the Bluetooth/Nav while in motion. You can get it installed or do it yourself. Here are links to the two popular ones:JCesar wrote:I would like that in my car so my daughter can watch her shows or movies!
Our cars play DVD's but I hate that you have to be in Park and with the E-break on
I have the Beatsonic hack and I LOVE it. I can switch it on and my son in the back seat can watch movies with no issues.LVApeMan56 wrote:There is the NavHack that will override the parking and speed sensors to watch the DVDs and operate the Bluetooth/Nav while in motion. I'm looking to take it one step further and actually Mirror the phone/tablet screen to the car's LCD screen to do what SmoovC was referencing with Google Maps/Pandora/DTV/Netflix, etc...
This is for the Prestigious, but should be roughly the same for the BeatSonic..JCesar wrote:How hard is the install and us there a how to?
Good question, I was thinking about some headrest monitors later on down the road and this question would have easily been asked by me, nice video as well.PeteFiniti wrote:Nice vid -
I was wondering - since my m37 came with the DVD screen mounted into the back of each head rest, can video be mirrored to those as well (somehow) I haven't seen anything on the forum (yet) about it. If not possible this way is there another way? Pardon the ignorance

I'd like to know this as well. The onboard nav is fine if I'm going on a long trip but for quick use on short trips across town, I'm still using google maps. I was wondering when I first got the car why car makers aren't making these to interface with the phone is such a way as to simply be a display for the phone. Makes so much sense to me to pass on that part of the tech to the interface most costumers are already accustomed too, their smartphones. If there were an aftermarket mod to do it, I'd be all over it.LVApeMan56 wrote:So my question still stands.. with no external AV jacks in the newer M's, is there a way to wire in AV connectors from a wireless hub (samsung, chromecast, etc...) to our current nav/media system?
Are there maybe AV jacks on the back of system in the dash?
You just described Apple's CarPlay and Google's Android Auto. The aftermarket for this tech is very young and pretty much limited to a few Pioneer headunits and some other upcoming products from Parrot. I'm sure more solutions will be available in the next few years.tbmgu wrote:I'd like to know this as well.
